T-Lab is a Japanese brand. Our Pole Pole figurines are designed in Japan, then hand-carved and hand-painted in Bali. Simple little objects that bring a touch of gentleness to everyday life.
Designed in Japan
It all starts with a drawing.
Each animal begins as a drawing by our designers in Japan. Round, clean shapes, a silhouette you recognise at first glance, and that calm little look that gives Pole Pole its charm.
Hand-carved in Bali
Patient skill.
In Bali, artisans carve each figurine from solid wood, sand it at length, then paint it by hand. The work remains human: no two animals are ever quite the same.
Albizia wood
A natural material.
We work with albizia, a fast-growing tree that renews itself quickly. Its light colour and soft grain lend themselves to simple shapes. The colours are applied with plant-based paints.
