Oyako wooden figurines: tender parent and baby pairs
The Oyako collection brings together the most charming wooden parent and baby figurines from the Japanese brand T-lab. In Japanese, "oya" means parent and "ko" means child, so each pair tells the story of the bond between a mother or father and their little one. Hand-carved, these wooden animal figurines form real little families to place side by side. You will find the wooden elephant family, the penguin family, the rabbit family and the Siamese cat family, each a heartwarming scene celebrating the gentleness of family life.
Japanese design, handmade in Bali
Behind the PolePole range lies a unique meeting between T-lab's Japanese design and exceptional Balinese know-how. Each figurine is handmade in Bali from Albizia Falcata wood sourced from responsibly managed forests, where every tree cut down is replanted. The artisans then paint the figurines with plant-based paint that is both gentle and kind to the environment. Since no two pieces are ever the same, your elephant parent and its baby, or your owl family, will always be truly one of a kind. This is the very spirit of "pole pole", a Swahili expression meaning slowly, little by little, which guides the brand's patient philosophy.
Parent and baby pairs to collect
The charm of the Oyako collection lies in these parent and baby pairings that are such a pleasure to bring together. The Lion parent watches over its cub, the Siamese cat parent stays close to its kitten, while the monkey family and the Shiba family complete the menagerie. You can buy complete pairs or build your own wooden animal family by adding a baby rabbit, a baby penguin or a baby sea otter. Each figurine looks just as lovely on a shelf as in a child's bedroom, where these little wooden companions quickly become decorative cuddly friends you never tire of looking at.

An Oyako figurine is a meaningful gift for a new baby, Mother's Day or Father's Day, or simply to show someone you care. Its soft, rounded design suits a natural, warm interior.
